doing what I love to do

Alot has happen since I’ve last updated my blog. And I mean a lot. I don’t know why I don’t post on here often, I guess it’s because I don’t have much of a following and really i only think 2 people actually read my posts but what ever, fuck it.

first off; I just graduated high school; what a big relieve that was. I think now I don’t have to focus on school as much and i can start actually working and start accumulating money so I can build a cool car. I think now I’ll be more focused on trying to do what I actually like to do, which is to drive (hopefully). But first I have to build a cool car.

I ended up getting rid of the stock zenki I just bought for a little daily Alitma from a buddy of mine. So since I have really no cool car at that point. I decided to go out with the money I have and buy another one. (Smart huh)

A friend of mine; Will Parsons drove me 48 hours round trip to Ohio to pick up this race car I ran across on Facebook for a really good price. I slid him some money and I left the day after my graduation ceremony.

The car I ended up purchasing was a 1998 240SX.

I plan on sticking with this car for a very long time due to how cool it looks and how much is invested into it. I think the end product of this car can be pretty amazing. I’ve always secretly wanted a rowdy race car essentially. I think it would make for a better driving experience and just more of a fun car to drive.

There are a few things that need to still be done to get it fully ready to go. So I will try my best to update the blog as much as possible as I make progress with the new car.

Here are some pictures from the trip

time to knock the dust off my blog

I’ll be trying to update my blog regularly since all I do is work and don’t do anything before or after I work because my car is a hour away from me. So being bored after work, I’ve decided to hop back on this and start trying this blog thing out again. I’ll be posting more tomorrow (hopefully) since it’s my day off and I can go see my car. But thought I would just update this. Not like anyone really reads this lol.

a BIG mess pt. 1 (Big Update)

I know I haven’t updated in awhile just because I’m lazy to post. But ALOT has happen and I mean a lot.

So lets start where we stop at on the last post. Sooo strap in  I guess this is gonna be long af.

So the first thing I did was 5 lug conversion cause that 4 lug shit was wack and I wanted to have baller wheels.

I ended up find some cheap oem hubs and just got some 5 lug rotors off of rock auto for like $50.

image

image

I ended up only doing the rear because I didn’t have any 5 lug wheels cause I was broke and yea. But my buddy Kevin Martinez (KoukiKev) had his car down and he let me borrow some AVS Model 5’s to get my car on the road. (18×9 I don’t remember the offset)

image.jpeg

Ps. Thanks Kev

I ended up finding out that the wheels were making a weird noise and making my car drive weird so I ended up taking the wheels off and saw the holes weren’t really holes anymore

image

So I gave Kevin back the wheels and now needed to find other wheels and old friend of mine ended up letting me borrow his Minervas since his car was down until I acquired enough money to buy my own wheels

imageimage

imageimage

The sizing of these were really shitty

the size are 18×9 +45 and the rear was 18×10 +30 so I ran a 40 mm spacer up front because the wheels wouldn’t fit on the studs with out hitting the coilover.

the car was really raked and I had cheap coilovers and the fronts were maxed out so I took a collar out to maximize my lowness to fix everything because I really liked the way the rear looked.

I drove on these for alittle but until my birfday came around and ended up getting my settlement check came in so I had the money to buy my own wheels.

i went alittle over board when I got my settlement check and went to Justin Rogers (NightParade) house and ended up buying a bunch of parts off his s14 since he was parting his car out.

I ended up buying his Safety 21 6 point bolt in Cage with door bars

image

His black on black 330 Nardi Classic and black hub

image

S14 pass passenger seat, and S15 read seats (don’t have pics)

Battle Verison Toe and Traction arms and PBM RUCA

image

^Not my setups up just a picture I stole from Justin’s to show y’all the arms

LED Kouki tail lights so I can get rid of the ugly black kouki center garnish

image

Peep the JY W0rld and BH World stickers.

i think that’s all I bought from him maybe some more little things.

Next thing that I bought was a D-MAX Shotgun bent Exhaust from Brent Beakes (Zenki_Brent) cause I wanted to get rid of the shitty stock exhaust I had

image

Finally I wanted to buy some wheels and I had my eyes set on Bronze Model 5’s. After a month of looking, still couldn’t find the sizing I wanted and the color. I ended up having to give back the Minervas back so I ended up having to find a set pretty quick. Luckily I found Doug Buttermore (240sx.dough) was trying to sell his Model 5’s so I hoped on it.

imageimage

They were repainted Model 5’s that were 17×9 +22 and 18×10 +19

image

I ended up mounting 215/45/17 RSR up front and 225/40/18 Kenda KR20 in the rear just to see how it looked. I put on a 25 mm spacer up front just to bring the wheels out a tad more

Finally, it was time to get rid of being automatic and have a fun car to actually drive.

i sourced out all the parts needed for the manual stuff and got everything bough and ready to put in.

Lucky my buddy Jake Muse (Shrimps on Deck/Takamuse) had a lift and the tools to do the job so I brought all the parts and headed to his place to start the job

image

Took about 2 days and some of the gang came over and we order pizza and had a pool party and some other stuff.

Jake had a welding machine at his shop so we ended up welding my diff too

Pretty much straight forward. Just disconnect the driveshaft and everything to the tranny, and then just drop the tranny

Cut the pilot bushing thing and put the flywheel and clutch on. I just put an oem clutch on cause I didn’t need anything fancy yet. And it was pretty much free.

image

But yea I bolted everything up. Did the wiring stuff and pretty much done. (I didn’t take pictures of the assembling portion)

image

Now the interior looks cool and stuff

pt 2 will be up tomorrow

Starting Over

So I ended up selling my 95 Zenki to find a cleaner Zenki. I sold it to a dude on the forums in North Houston and plans on using it as a practice car for the drift series.

image

So after 2 weeks of searching for another Zenki. I found a clean 96 Zenki with 140k Miles. It was an automatic and had a open differential and 4 lug, so I know it’s not abused. The car was about 7 hours away from me. It was 15 minutes south of Oklahoma. My buddy Kevin  volunteered to drive me up there.

image

Car had some cool little stuff like D2 coilovers, Double Din radio, Subwoofers, Greddy Lip, and And 18″ Square G6 wheels. I really wanted a black Zenki cause I’ve always had a thing for black cars and this one caught my eye.

I lived about 7 hours away from the car, so I had my buddy Kevin drive me up to get the if I payed for his gas

So I stayed at my aunt and uncles place again since they lived about an hour south of where I purchased the car. I did a quick go over with the car to make sure it was ok to drive home and and the only problem I had was that the wiring seem to trip out with the speedo and the turn signals stop working and the coolant was super rusty and brown so I did a complete radiator flush. But that’s about it

But yea going to do five lug and and put cool wheels and make the car look cool first and how I want before I go back to drifting

One of the first things I did to the car was put in Clear lenses in the headlights. I feel that is a must for all zenkis.

I think it made he car look a little bit better, but the car is far from looking good….. Ewww those mirrors are so ugly. I need to put some stock ones on.

Oh well, that’s about it for the new car. This is basically gonna be turning into a build thread now since no more drift car. But that’s fine by me

SB2K16!

So over Spring Break last month during March. I decided to tow my car to my uncles shop and completely go over the car and fix what I had problems with before Round 1 of Texas Street Legal.

image

I live about 6 hours away from my aunt and uncles so I would be staying up there all week just so I didn’t stress about having to do an all nighter or something.

So day 1 I decided to drop the subframe because I had to put new ebrake cables in I was gonna put those weird slip on bushing things and since I had access to a lift at my uncles person shop, went fairly easy.

image

I dropped my subframe on the first day and found out my two front bushings were completely gone. Completely

image

So now I couldn’t use the collar bushings since have no bushing so I ended up just overnighting  some PBM Solid subframe risers

image

Decided to paint my subframe since I had some left over paint that I wouldn’t use just to clean it up a little bit. Was like a Cusco burple color

image

Cut the old bushings out and inserted the risers

image

Since the coilovers and all arms were out, decided to give them all a good clean even so cleaned up my coilovers and they look almost brand new

image

The next thing I decided to tackle was the front end. It always felt a little weird while drifting and I found out after I purchase the car, it was badly hit in the front so it’s all buckled. I pulled the hood, fenders, bumper and lights off to see what’s happening.

image

As soon as I took everything off, I saw the most fuckery, ghetto, stupidest or what ever you would like to call this…

image.jpeg

The previous owner cut a chunk out of the car… I’m guessing to try to straighten where it’s buckled out. Guessing why my car feels weird cause it flexs. Decided to do a temporary fix and get some angle iron and just weld it to the frame

image

Probably should paint it to prevent from rust. But this did the trick. The car felt a lot snappier and more sturdy during rd 1.

Next I decided to do my door cause my friend ended up bending my hinges on my door so it sagged and took a lot of force to close.

image

I really don’t have a lot of pictures but all I did was take the door off and take the hinges and hammer them flat and about an hour and half of just adjusting the door trying to get it right.

One of the last major things I decided to do was change the axles cause the boots on my old ones were completely ripped and the grease looked kinda bad in the axle. Just decided to buy new axles and put them in

image

Changing the axles were the ALOT easier than I thought.

Thats pretty much it for my Spring Break. Left my aunt and uncle and couldn’t take them enough for all they did for me.

image

Went to a local shop that my aunt and uncle knew and got a pretty cheap alinement before I had to rd 1.

Got to Houston pretty late and I had to run some errands before I headed home and get in my own bed so I decided to meet up with my friend Kevin and to say hi since he lives on the other side of town

image

Got home about 11:30pm on Friday, day before Round 1 and couldn’t sleep. I’ll make another post on just my experience on Round 1 TXSL.
